Harbourfront Parks

Tamar Park

Looking for a scenic picnic spot? Tamar Park is the ideal location for a relaxing picnic, with over 1.76 hectares of greenery and an accessible location in front of the iconic Central Government offices and the Legislative Council Complex. This harbourfont park is probably the hottest spot for a picnic in all of Hong Kong Island and particularly packed with picnickers on the weekends. Chill out on the grass with family and friends and revel at impressive views of Victoria Harbour, all while enjoying a refreshing seabreeze. This expansive harbourfront park space also serves as a great venue to hold events like movie screenings, mini concerts, and group workouts. Sports lovers and yogis flock to this urban retreat to stay fit in style.

Tamar park also leads up to the Central Ferry Piers and Western District Promenade. The Central Harbourfront Event Space in front of the Central Star Ferry Pier is a premier open-air entertainment area in Hong Kong, where you can be enthralled by the 360-degree harbor view and regular exciting Art and Culture events. It also homes the 60-meter high Hong Kong Observation Wheel,  another striking venue to enjoy incredible sweeping views of Victoria Harbour.

Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park

Nestled between Hong Kong's gleaming skyscrapers lies a world of solace and tranquility. Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park in Sai Ying Pun is a beautiful harbourfont park featuring a spacious green lawn and plenty of exercise facilities. The Chime Tower and Four Desperado Courtyard monuments inside the park recall the history of a leading Chinese revolutionary figure, Dr. Sun Yat Sen. The memorial park is located at the spot where Dr. Sun originally boarded a boat to meet his allies. Today, this place has been transformed into a comprehensive leisure area, inclusive of a 7-a-side soccer pitch, several sports courts, 5,000 square feet swimming pool, and a children’s play area.

Hillside Park

Wan Chai Gap Park

For those who prefer staying closer to the hillside, Wan Chai Gap Park makes a great option. The park is located higher up, in a canyon in the Wan Chai district. Also known as "Octopus Park”, the Wan Chai Gap Park is surrounded by 7 roads and accessible from all sides. To reach the entrance of Wan Chai Gap Road, climb up from the valley two blocks down from Lee Tung Avenue. Getting to the park from V Wanchai will take you 15 minutes by foot. Spend a joyful day with kids in the spacious playground or start a scenic hike to Aberdeen Country Park.

City Centre Park

Victoria Park

This park in Causeway Bay is the largest public recreation ground on Hong Kong Island. While located in one of Hong Kong’s busiest districts, Victoria Park allows you to relax and escape the hectic crowds.  Well-equipped with a wide range of facilities like a bowling green, soccer pitches, and jogging trail, the park has become one of the local’s most beloved areas to recharge. Kids especially relish playing with radio control boats in the model boat pool and roller skating in the ancillary rink. This serene haven turns into an eventful space during Chinese New Year, hosting the Lunar New Year Fair and other seasonal exhibitions. Victoria Park is accessible in 5 minutes from V Causeway Bay and V Causeway Square.
